Our chickens didn't hatch

Unfortunately our chickens didn't hatch.
Some of the reasons we think they didn't hatch were...
- a thunder storm
- ran out of water
- life because sometimes something do not live

We tested to see if they sunk to the bottom or floated to the top.

This one you can see the bird that had grown.

The rotten on was very smelly!

Today we cracked the eggs to see what had happened. Out of the 5 eggs we had in the incubator.
One wasn't fertilised so when we cracked it we just had yoke in the egg. Two had little chicks, one was very rotten and the last one had started to form but had died at some stage.

T-Ball with Greer

This week Greer came for her last activator visit of the year!
We have learnt so much and had heaps of fun! We can't wait for next year.

This is in slow motion so turn off the sound or it will give funny noises!

Gore visit

This week the 6 Yr 1 children went to the Gruffalo in Dunedin with the Kool Kids.

They thought the show was
- Great! My favourite part was when the Gruffalo came and gave us a hug. Dot
- I loved the Dinosaur Park. Jazmine

The rest of the class went to Gore.

First we found the Brown Trout!

Trying to 'hold' onto the fish.

Then we went to the bike park to work on our road biking skills!

Scarlett learnt it was important to see where she was going!

Oliver, Daniel and Joe 'Giving Way'

Well done Libby! She stopped to let the people walk over the pedestrian crossing.

Look at Raisa, Oliver and Olivia waiting for Hannah to pass before they cross!

Then we went to Gore Main School for lunch.

We shared writing to each other.

Then talked about what was outside...

They had chickens!

They also have a wonder world! Full with lots of different things to play on.

Two classes have hatched chicks at their school!

Then we were off to the pool!
